Going Green(er)

Clay has been busy installing our second set of solar panels during the past few weeks. We spent last weekend up on the roof setting up the first 5 panels of our new system. We had to rearrange the ones we put up last year so they will all fit on the roof and look somewhat symmetrical. I'm sure our neighbors behind us just love the view, but the nice thing is that you can't see them at all from the front of our house. I went to apply for the permit the other day and we asked the city if they would consider waiving the building permit fees for renewable energy. Many cities are waiving the fees for this and some are even giving credits to people who install renewable energy. I hope that they will consider it. Solar not only benefits us as a family, it also benefits our neighbors when we feed renewable energy back into the grid or just by us reducing the amount of CO2 that goes into the atmosphere. We really wish more people would consider installing solar or other renewable energy on their homes/property. It is less than the cost of a car, and unlike a car, solar will actually pay for itself in several years. Then it will keep providing energy for many more years at no cost to you, so in the end it will save you money, probably even enough that you could go out and buy a car. How many cars have you bought that will do that for you? Ok, off my soapbox now. Here are some pix of Clay at work.

And here is your Miles fix for the week Grandma and Grandpa. This is one of his favorite books since it has a zebra in it. Sorry the lighting isn't very good. I'll try to get a better video for you this week.

I love it. Kennen is jealous that you have the solar panels. He has wanted to do something like that for a long time. Miles is so cute. He looks nice and warm all bundled up for the snow. Thanks for meeting us for lunch. It was so good seeing you and Miles. Thanks for giving me directions. They were awesome. whenever you want you are more than welcome to come and hang out with us here in Casper. We would love to have you.
