Spring Fever

April was a busy month for our family.  After a winter full of skiing, we were excited to start looking forward to spring.  Miles started off the month with a school play, The Tale of Peter Rabbit.  Miles requested a reader part and he got it.  He was so excited!  We practiced his lines until he could say them in his sleep. 

 

 Here he is reading his lines.  I started the video during the reader before him, so he is the second one.  It's only a few lines, but the whole play was only 20 minutes so all the readers had very short parts.
 

Leah got invited to a couple birthday parties.  The first one was a princess party where she got to meet a real princess in person.

 

 Then she went to another party where there was a balloon artist.  She waited very patiently while all the other kids got their balloon creations.  The balloon guy was so impressed with her patience he wanted to reward her with an awesome balloon creation.  She picked Sophia the First.  Twenty minutes later her balloon was finished.  It was amazing!  It's too bad they don't last more than a week though.

Leah's preschool sang in church for Palm Sunday.  Here is Leah with her friends before church.

 Then came Easter, of course.  The kids were very excited to wake up and find their baskets in the morning.  I actually didn't remind them the night before that it was Easter that weekend, so they were very surprised when they found their baskets that morning.  I was hoping that this would give us a few more minutes of sleep in the morning, but we were still up by 7 am. 

We had an Easter egg hunt for the kids later in the morning.  We did it the same way we did it last year.  There was no candy in the eggs.  They had to find 20 small eggs to get their candy prize, and 3 large eggs with their name on it to get their big prize.  Miles was very excited when he got his prize and it was a light saber.  He has become a little obsessed with Star Wars lately!

Leah was very excited to get her own garden gloves and a new watering can since her old one had a hole in it.

She also got some new sidewalk chalk so of course we had to try it out.

She loves the movie Frozen so much that she has changed her name to Elsa.  She writes it on all her school papers.  After she signed her sidewalk chalk picture Elsa, I had a bright idea to turn her into Elsa.  So this was Leah as Elsa.

 This was the outfit she wore most of the month.

It was usually accompanied by the song, Let It Go.  And it was usually accompanied by her Elsa hairdo.  This was as close as I could get.

This kid celebrated her first birthday.  We are still waiting for her to settle down into a nice, calm adult dog.

I just have to make sure she gets a LOT of exercise.  That's actually not a bad thing for me either.

The kids enjoyed being able to be outside more.

Leah managed to slam her fingers in the door.  We now have another picture to add to her big book of boo boos.

The doctor said we should do an xray since it was injured right at the joint.  Thankfully, there were no broken bones and she healed up quickly.

 We also finally got a snowstorm!  It was even enough to make a snowman.  The kids were really excited to pull their winter gear back out and go play in the snow.  Miles worked really hard on this snowman.  It's too bad he only lasted for a day.

After they made their snowman, they came in and had some hot chocolate and Miles read Leah a story.
