We recently celebrated another birthday at our house. Miles is now officially 7 years old! He didn't really ask for anything specific for his birthday, so I think he was rather surprised to wake up and see a new bike waiting for him that morning. He bent the rim of one of his bike tires a few months ago so he has been without a bike for a while. We figured it was a good time to move him up to the next size anyway, so we thought it would be fun to surprise him with a new one for his birthday.
We were lucky to wake up to a beautiful day for his birthday this year. He did have to wear a jacket for his morning ride, but by the time he came home from school it was so warm we didn't even need jackets.
Miles' birthday was on a Friday this year so he only had a half day of school. He was excited to take treats to his class so we started off the day by taking donuts to his school and singing to him with all his classmates. Leah and I decided it would be fun to have lunch with Miles on his special day, so I picked up some Arbys and Leah and I joined him in the cafeteria for a lunch date. It was a lot of fun. Then we headed home for the afternoon and took his bike for a spin around the neighborhood.
Miles decided he wanted to go out for his birthday dinner, so after his dad got home we headed into town for dinner at his favorite restaurant.
After dinner, the celebration continued with a yummy chocolate cake at home.
Miles also got a couple new helicopters for his birthday. Here he is flying his new Chinook. Our high ceilings have really come in handy with these helicopters. He and his dad have a lot of fun flying them around the house.
The next day we headed to Peter Piper Pizza for a party with a few of his friends from school. Everyone had a great time eating pizza and playing games.
Happy 7th Birthday, Miles! We hope that seven is your luckiest year yet and full of lots of fun times with family and friends.
