It was a little cold and rainy that afternoon, but it didn't stop us from having a great first day at Disney!

M-I-C-K-E-Y
M-O-U-S-E!
We actually started off our 2 days at Disneyland in California Adventure. In the car that morning, Miles told us the first thing he wanted to ride was the caterpillar ride with doors, that sprayed water on you. That sounded just like the Chew Chew Train in California Adventure, so that is where we headed, only to have Miles tell us that was not the ride he wanted to go on. Leah wasn't too sure she liked that ride either.
Clay said she was making that sad little face the whole time we were on that ride. Next we headed over to the little hot air balloon ride and her face quickly turned to a smile. She loved that ride! I think that was officially her favorite ride. When we were ready to leave that area she kept pointing at it and asking to go back.

Next Miles wanted to ride the taxis (Monsters, Inc.). We lucked out and there was no line for that ride so we rode it a couple times.

The kids both loved the adventure trail area of the park. They played there for quite a while and I was even able to sneak away and ride Tower of Terror while they played. Leah insisted on doing everything her big brother did, and although Miles was a little tentative on the rope bridges at first, he quickly figured them out and was proud of himself for crossing them all by himself.

Miles decided to try out the jumping jellyfish ride. I rode it with him the first time and he loved it, so then he wanted Clay to ride it with him too. Clay wasn't too excited about riding that ride since it goes straight up in the air, but he was a good sport and smiled even when they were way up in the air.
Miles was tall enough to ride Soaring Over California this year and we thought he would enjoy it since he doesn't mind heights at all. He and Clay got a Fast Pass for it and he loved it! He was so excited about flying over the fireworks and the aircraft carrier and said he would ride it again with me the next day.
It was a little cold and rainy that afternoon, but it didn't stop us from having a great first day at Disney!

So glad you were able to have fun. Nice that Miles is tall enough to go on a few more rides. Glad he enjoyed them.
