(and doing my best to keep up with Leah)

The Windy City

Good old Chicago.  We actually ventured downtown this year and the kids got to see the famous skyline for the first time.

We spent the rest of our visit in the 'burbs though, visiting with Grandma and Grandpa U, and Uncle Clint, Aunt Linda, Clint and Kylee.  The kids enjoyed walking down to the park by Grandma and Grandpa's house when it was cool enough.  They loved playing on this train.  It is so much fun to watch their imaginations at work.

They play so well together most of the time.  I have a feeling Leah is going to be lost without her playmate when Miles goes off to school.  At least she will be going off to preschool a couple days a week too so she will have some other kids to play with.

We had a tricycle like this when I was little.  I remember how much fun we had riding on the back,  Miles and Leah figured that out pretty quickly too.

We also attended a baby shower for Clay's cousin, Irene, while we were there.  It isn't too often that you actually get to snuggle the baby during the baby shower so of course we all enjoyed the opportunity to hold a tiny one again.

He was such a content little guy.  Here is my sister-in-law, Linda, enjoyed some snuggles with baby Oliver.
 Happy mom and baby.
Grandma U enjoyed a few snuggles with Oliver too.
Leah decided she was one of the big girls at the shower.  She enjoyed playing with all her cousins all day and I think they enjoyed playing with her too.
After the shower Grandma and Grandpa U enjoyed playing a game of beanbags with their two boys.

Miles enjoyed playing a few games of beanbags too.

Leah enjoyed some snuggles with Aunt Linda.
We also decided to spend a day at the aquarium.  Cousin Kylee was able to go with us and show us around the place.
Leah enjoyed watching the stingrays through this glass floor.

They had a special exhibit on jellyfish that the kids thought were pretty cool to look at too, although it was so crowded it was hard to see some of them.

We enjoyed seeing the Beluga whales swim around their big tank.
Then we watched them perform a few tricks at the aquatics show.
I think Miles' favorite part of the whole day was playing in the submarine though.  I think he would have stayed there all day if I would have let him.
